About Alison
Unearth YourselfBe who you came here to be
I support people to journey back to themselves so that they can be who they are meant to be.
I am an explorer. In my life, I have felt called to places and experiences that my logical mind might have stopped me from pursuing. I have trekked to the base of Mount Everest, cycled in Patagonia, studied art and Spanish in Costa Rica, kayaked the waters of Haida Gwaii, trekked the mountains of Bhutan, and explored the sacred valley of Peru. When I feel the pull towards something I honour it because that is where the magic happens.
Perhaps my most challenging and worthwhile explorations have been the journey inward to rediscover myself. My first inward journey was a week-long yoga and meditation retreat. It was an amazing experience, though sitting for five hours a day was a challenge for my first try at meditating. I went on to study as a yoga teacher and when I wanted to go deeper I studied Phoenix Rising Yoga therapy. It was during yoga therapy that I learned how transformational and healing it is to deeply listen to another. I discovered the wisdom that our bodies hold for us.
I have worked as an environmental professional in both the public and the private sector. For over a decade I was a member of the executive team of a North American wide aggregate, emulsion and environmental company. I was responsible for environmental performance and sustainability. My best and most creative work was done when I brought my whole self to work. I have my Master of Arts in Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching both from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.
